Redoubt
Protect a desert radio outpost with a small squad. Read the announced shots, move out of danger and stop the raiders.
You command Ellis, the soldier with the gold ring. Defeat the raiders and keep the radio intact. Each turn gives each soldier two actions; spend each on one move OR one shot. Arrows choose a square. The preview says what Space will do. Bootprints mark reachable ground; red crosses mark where the raiders will fire. Move away or defeat the shooter before pressing Enter. Enter resolves their fire and reloads your actions. Z restores your last action until you commit the turn. Clear every raider and incoming wave to continue.
Play controls

- Enter / E - resolve enemy fire and reload
- P - pause
- R - resume

Specialists
Ellis is the ranger: olive cape and long rifle, five-square range, two damage. Bell joins patrol two: broad steel armor and a tall shield, close-range hits that shove raiders. Shaw joins patrol three: cream coat and green field bag, four-square range, one damage. X uses one special ability per specialist per patrol: Ellis fires a stronger shot, Bell makes a longer-range shove, and Shaw heals nearby soldiers.
Score and progression
Defeat a raider for 100 points. Clear a patrol for 500 plus 25 per remaining radio health. Patrols continue with tougher enemies; the run ends if the transmitter or every soldier is lost. Scores are local practice; this release has no global leaderboard, multiplayer or saved runs.
A helper on your live board
Your terminal and game share one board from launch. nano helper.sh edits the saved starter; ./helper.sh & runs it alongside manual play. jobs lists helpers; stop stops them. Ctrl+C interrupts a foreground program. Edited files survive re-entry. Use delay for live helper timing; wait joins jobs. benchmark opens separate deterministic practice with GIF, replay and receipt exports; standard restores the same paused live board.
nano helper.sh
./helper.sh &
jobs
stop
The starter watches radio health while you move and fire. scan units, scan enemies and scan map expose the visible battlefield. JSON x/y coordinates are zero-based; add one when passing them to move or cursor.
Sharing
Saved files use the shared editor, filesystem and Git tools. Review a helper before running it; preserve its author and license when adapting it. The existing forge contribution flow provides versions and source credit. Cloning never executes a script. See the terminal workspace guide.
