Ridgetop

Catch air. Bring it home.

guidesView Game Page →Last updated 2026-10-17

Ride six trails of ridges, broken bridges and quick checkpoint retries. Stack wheelies, flips and airtime into a high-scoring run.

Play

  • Up / W - throttle
  • Down / S - brake, then reverse
  • Left / A - lean back / backflip
  • Right / D - lean forward / frontflip
  • Space / Enter - begin, retry or next course
  • P - pause
  • R - resume
  • N - play again

Progression and score

Balance throttle and lean across six trails. Down brakes and then reverses, so you can back up for a longer run at a gap. The suspension can recover tilted wheel landings; helmet contact or a fall costs a fault. Retry at the last flag. Wheelies earn 25 points per metre, increasing to a three-times multiplier for a sustained lift. Safe landings bank 200 points per second of airtime and 500 for each backflip or frontflip. All these bonuses add together. Only jumps of at least 0.3 seconds count, and previously scored ground does not award repeat points after reversing or retrying. Each finish adds max(100, 10000 - elapsed ticks / 5 rounded down - 400 per fault). Gold allows one fault within the course time; silver allows three faults and 50% more time. Six trails repeat in new tours with score carried forward. Scores are local practice, not a global leaderboard.

Write your own approach

Launch ridgetop --script or type script during play. Edit policy.sh, chmod +x policy.sh, then ./policy.sh. fixtures chooses repeatable practice; standard returns to manual play. Stop cancels. Files survive re-entry. GIF, replay and receipt exports are local practice. This workspace runs a separate practice game; a background helper attached to your manual outing is not included.

Try scripts try ridgetop-starter in a disposable practice workspace. To adapt it, clone the reviewed repository in the CLI-Games terminal:

git clone https://forge.cli-games.com/cli-games/game-starters.git ~/scripts/game-starters
ridgetop --script
cd ~/scripts/game-starters/ridgetop-starter
nano policy.sh
./policy.sh

If you already have a clean clone, use git pull inside it to obtain newly published examples. After leaving the game, return to the example directory to record edits:

cd ~/scripts/game-starters/ridgetop-starter
git diff
git add policy.sh
git commit -m "Tune my example"

Keep LICENSE.txt and attribution when sharing. Cloning never runs a program or replaces edits.

Use terrain, speed and angle to choose throttle and lean. Build an approach that lands a backflip or frontflip and banks its airtime bonus.

Use man ridgetop for the reference, or play Ridgetop.
