Word-King
An eight-word royal run guided by directional placement and a hidden theme
Word-King
Five letters at a time. Eight claims for the crown.
The Position Colors
Color appears only when that copy of the letter belongs in the hidden word:
- Orange — the matching letter belongs farther right
- Gold — exact letter, exact position
- Purple — the matching letter belongs farther left
- Unlit — absent from the word, or more copies were guessed than exist
Exact positions are claimed first. Remaining repeated letters are paired one-to-one with the nearest available matching positions, so the board never claims more copies than the hidden word contains.
A Royal Run
Each run draws eight words without replacement from a larger group of loosely related words. The court never announces the category. Claimed words are your clues to what may come next.
The allowance tightens after every victory:
claim 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
guesses 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
Lose any claim and the run ends. Your earlier claimed words and Royal Score still count.
Scoring
Words claimed dominate the score. Efficient guesses add a smaller bonus; off-position letters, hints, and repeating a letter in a slot already proven wrong reduce that bonus. Claiming another word is always worth more than polishing an earlier one.
Use hint [1-5] to reveal one exact position when the crown is worth the cost.
Daily Court
The Daily Court gives every signed-in player the same hidden eight-word run. Answers stay on the server until the court closes. Guests can play yesterday's court locally.
