Dial-Up Days
Build a 1998 botnet and live with what follows
One machine in your homemade botnet has gone dark. The pager is buzzing, and the summer is already moving.
Start in your bedroom, inspect the scene, and follow the clue into a town built from people, machines, removable media, and consequences. You will move through Millbrook one command at a time, then drop into the actual DOS-style computers and pager shell when the story puts you in front of them.
Repair the network, expand it carefully, manage the heat you attract, and decide what kind of operator you become. There is no command quiz hiding behind the fiction: look, talk, use, inspect, and verify until the town gives up its next lead.
